The Cornish Paths Sweater is a hand-knitting design that has been created for you to enjoy wearing under a coat for either a gentle autumn walk with friends, or a blustery winter stomp along the shore to help blow the cobwebs away; it is the perfect walking sweater.

Equally, it was designed to look stylish and neat in the pub after your adventures, as you all warm up by the woodburner, share laughter, hopes and dreams together, the dogs sleeping around your feet.

The beginning of the knit has a fluid tubular cast-on, which represents the gentle rolling horizon of the Cornish sea on a calm autumn morning, matched perfectly with a finishing touch that is

easy on the eye through the stretchy tubular bind-offs.

The twisted rib offers you a deep hemline and cuffs that allow for a close fit to the body under your coat, so when you walk the paths with fellow travellers, you don’t get any draughts. The sleeves echo this, as they are gently fitted, and won’t feel too bulky under your jacket, or over a long tee. I specifically chose a sumptuous rolled turtleneck, as, when walking a few miles in a raincoat, scarves can often feel bulky, and this neckline mitigates that annoyance.

The travelling cables were chosen to represent the trailing paths I have taken across the years, and seed stitch is an ode to the small pebbles and stones that I have either skipped along the waves, or hidden in my pockets as talismans.
